Peaceful Change initiative
2012 to 2025

This website houses the reports, tools, podcasts, methodology guides, case-studies, research and other materials produced by Peaceful Change initiative (PCi) from 2012 until 2025.

PCi ceased operating in Autumn 2025. Trustees took the decision to close the charity. Like many peacebuilding organisations, we faced growing financial pressures due to a decline in donor funding, the increasing commercialisation and compliance costs of government donor contracts, and donor refusal to cover realistic overhead costs.

As part of managing our legacy, we are happy to make our materials available to other peacebuilders around the world. Please use these materials freely. If you would like to cite PCi as a source, please use “Peaceful Change initiative archive”.

Here you will find:

  • Tools and resources covering PCi’s innovative approach to conflict sensitivity
  • Resources and case studies on Social Peace and Local Development methodology
  • Lessons learned on how to promote women and young people’s participation in peace and security decision-making
  • Analysis and peacebuilding agendas covering context such as Libya, Syria, Ukraine, Mozambique, and the Western Balkans.
  • Tools and methodologies for peacebuilding
We wish you well in your work with communities and their leaders to prevent violent conflict and lay the foundations for lasting peace.

We work with communities and their leaders to confront the drivers of violent conflict. Together, we build the conditions that make sustainable peace possible.

Conflict sensitivity master class series

This podcast series challenges many of the traditional tools of conflict sensitivity, and advocates for more pragmatic approaches to implementing conflict sensitive programmes. The series also introduces a range of new conflict sensitivity tools.

Young people and peacebuilding in the Swahili Coast

Young people are critical to building and sustaining peace in their communities, but they are often excluded from peace efforts. Our latest report explores the intersection between youth, culture and peacebuilding along the Swahili Coast.

How we support peaceful change

We establish deep knowledge and strong partnerships where we work. This allows us to do both the long-term work of building peace and to respond rapidly and effectively to crises.
